The last female lead miner. From lead miners to successful UMKM entrepreneurs.

Belinyu - say, Nurjanah (40), the people of Stasiun 2 village, Belinyu district, Bangka island is a great woman. Great in the real sense. She contributed greatly to her family's economy not only in the family sector but also greatly influenced other miners' mothers or the communities that lived around.
With determination and strong will, Nurjanah (40) tried to rise above the backdrop of heavy adversity, a tin miner who was trying to move from house to house to a UMKM press. Now she has 20 employees of the mothers who are also former tin miners just like her.
Nurjanah had a radiant face and a smile. Kemplang, crackers is a processed product that she is currently working on. Kemplang, crackers made by Nurjanah and her employees have reached the national market, where their processed products have been marketed outside the island of Sumatra, such as the island of Java.
"I did all this to help the family's economy, I used to mine tin too, with strong determination I tried to open this business, where I got the capital from mining," murmured Nurjanah on Friday (02th December 2022)
Previously, Nurjanah collected the proceeds from mining, which were originally for school children's savings and then Nurjanah transferred them as capital to open a business. Because according to Nurjana, he doesn't always have to work as a miner, where the results he gets every day are uncertain. Until Nurjanah, with strong determination, tried to open a kemplang, cracker business.
Initially Nurjanah only worked alone, and only sold to stalls. Until gradually his kemplang, crackers were in great demand, and the profit he got was 3 times more than before. Since then, in 2020, Nurjanah has tried to make a home business for making kemplang, typical Bangka crackers, where she invites miners who used to mine with Nurjanah.
One of them is Kursia (43), the first employee to work with Nurjanah
"Alhamdulillah, thanks to Mrs. Nur for inviting me to work with her, I can help the family's economy, can send my children to school, and have snacks for school children. There is no need to join other people mining looking for money, the risk is pretty good, OK?” said Kursia (43) on Friday (02th December 2022)
Of course, every activity has its negative and positive sides. Mrs. Nurjanah and other mothers said that being a miner will not always experience difficulties in the economy, if we are good at finding innovative solutions and ideas.
Mining activity is an activity that does not have a long term, we will gradually abandon this activity, due to several factors, such as the absence of a location for mining, for example. However, mining activities can also be used as a way for us to form new ideas and innovations. which can help us in forming a business which can later be sustainable.
Nurjanah has proven that if we have effort and determination and confidence we will never feel a continuous downturn, we can definitely get up if we are willing to try and try.
