M. Jusuf Hamka or also known as babah alun is a chinese -Indonesian muslim politician. motivator and entrepreneur. He was born on December 1957 in the city of samarinda. Jusuf embraced Islam when he met Buya Hamka at the age of 23, in 1981. At that time, he saw in Tempo Magazine, some people converted to Islam (convicted) at the Al-Azhar Grand Mosque. Alun went straight there, met Ustaz Zaimi, Secretary of the Al-Azhar Grand Mosque and stated his intention to convert to Islam. Alun was then taken to Buya Hamka's house on Jalan Raden Fatah. Under Buya's guidance, Alun also said two sentences of creed and his name was changed by Buya Hamka to Jusuf Hamka.
