Week of Literature is an event to celebrate the anniversary of the English Literature Department. This event is held for one week, and there are a lot of contests in one week. There is Speech Contest, Spelling Bee Contest, Drama Contest, English Short Story Contest, Scrabble Contest, Story Telling Contest. Each of those competitions have a lot of participants that register for the contest and they also have a great spirit for doing the contest.
On the first day on Monday, the opening of this event is held for about three hours and not all of the committee, but only fifthteen committees that were invited for the opening. The opening is held with 3 other events, which are Fisip Expo, Pipol, and Socio Fest. In the opening there is Tari Sambut from Student Activity Units Seni, opening words from Chief Executive of Week of Literature, Chief Executive of Pipol, Chief Executive of Socio Fest, Chief Executive of Fisip Expo, The Governor of Fisip, and Head of Department Mam Diana.
The second day on Tuesday is the first day for the Competition. The first contest is Speech Contest, where the participant needs to give their own opinion to the theme that was given by the Committee. There are about ten to twenty participants that participate in this contest. The participants are from every highschool in Bangka Belitung. All of them are so great while giving their own opinion about the theme that the committee gives. There is one participant that looks like a "slay" guy who is talking about being yourself and that is to make everyone who heard the speech feel the speech deeply.
On the same day, the second contest was held too. the Scrabble Contest, this is the contest where the person needs to arrange the word on a board to get a certain score. There is one guy who is really annoying in the scrabble contest, he makes the committee feel annoyed by his attitude. His attitude is really annoying because he cannot stop talking while he is doing the contest, but he is smart but has zero attitude. He talks like he is the winner even though he just has second place for the Scrabble Contest.
The third day on Wednesday, there is a contest that includes 6 persons in one competition, the Drama Contest. Even though the participants are only 3 team but Drama Contest gives the best performance then another competition. Drama Contest gives the audience a feel of the drama, like their inside the drama and drama needs a lot of things to prepare in the room. There is one guy named Philiphus who is the time keeper on Drama Contest being useless because he too enjoys the performance, but thankfully the time by each team does not cross the boundaries.
The fourth day on Thursday, there is a contest that needs stuff to do their performance, the Story Telling Contest. The Story Telling Contest is a sleepy contest, because the more they are good at telling their story the more sleepy it gets. The meaning of sleepy in this contest is not a bad word but it is a good word, the more sleepy it gets the more you will become the winner. Story Telling Contest needs stuff to make their story more quality and better, the stuff can be a hat, bag, stick, and more.
The fifth day on Friday, is the last Competition in Celebration of English Literature Department Week of Literature. On this day, there are a lot of participants that get lost in another building because the other event also has a competition in another building. This competition does not allow people to watch the competition because it can be the way for the participants to cheat, even if the committee is restricted from watching the competition.
The sixth day, on Saturday, also the last day for Week of Literature, is the closing ceremony day. This closing ceremony is held on Saturday night with prom night dress code being the greatest day for Week of Literature, because the closing ceremony also announced the winner of each competition. The last schedule from the closing ceremony is the performance of the committee Week of Literature. The performances that the committee gives are a poem with guitar, choir that is followed by guitar and piano, and the flash mob. After the exhausting night, the committee of the Week of Literature took pictures as their memories and to enjoy themselves with photobooth. Week of Literature V will be the greatest Week of Literature ever.
